A- American Whiskey

In December 2012, Jack Daniel’s released an entirely new Whiskey which was very different from anything they had done before. Unaged Tennessee Rye was the first time in over 100 years that Jack Daniel had used a new grain recipe. This was a very limited release due to the remainder of the Rye Whiskey barrels being left to mature in the warehouses for a future release. Made available to the public with much anticipation and technically not part of a series, this is still the 1st of 3 Rye Whiskey’s that will be released by Jack Daniels. Other than this Unaged Tennessee Rye, there is also a Rested Tennessee Rye which was released in 2014 and an Aged Tennessee Rye which will be released at a future date.

Twelve years is a long time to wait, but patience has its rewards. Starting with our signature "high rye" recipe, this impeccable bourbon whiskey is the satisfying result of maturing for more than a decade in the finest charred American white oak barrels.

TASTING NOTES

Rich flavors of vanilla and cocoa abound in this full-bodied bourbon. After spending twelve years in oak, the delicate fruit notes in this whiskey are met with a lingering smoky finish that is more complex than most.

The coming together of two gold Wheatears.

Double Wheat combines two of Old Elk’s most beloved and awarded wheaten whiskeys: Old Elk Straight Wheat Whiskey and Old Elk Whetted Bourbon Straight Bourbon Whiskey. Thus creating an entirely unique pour. This is a merger for the more, yielding a higher proof (107.1) and a brighter profile whiskey in which a whole new category begs to be crafted.
