About Don Julio 1942

The process begins with hand-selecting agave plants that take 7 to 10 years to fully mature. The agave is then slowly roasted for 70 hours in traditional masonry ovens and double distilled in a special alambique still. The tequila is then rested in American oak barrels for over 2 years, developing its signature golden color and extraordinary depth of flavor.

CAVA DE ORO is a tequila of exceptional quality and flavor. Artfully distilled and bottled in el Arenal, Jalisco, Mexico, under the careful guidance of the Partidas family, third generation master distillers.

The blue weber agave used to produce Cava de Oro Tequila Extra Añejo is harvested at 7 to 10 years, from both the Los Altos and Tequila Valley regions of Jalisco. Instead of using the familiar ex-bourbon American oak barrels for aging, the distillery utilizes ex-red wine French oak barrels, where this Extra Añejo spends 5 years maturing. The extra Añejo offering is aged five years versus the typical three year minimum which produces its dark amber color and a complexity on the nose which includes cinnamon, caramel, vanilla and nutmeg. To be sipped neat or on the rocks and it's finish lingers delicately on the palate.

Patron Extra Anejo is made with 100% Weber Blue Agave, distilled in small batches using both the traditional tahona process and the modern roller mill method to create Patron's signature smooth taste. Aged in small oak barrels for at least 3 full years.
